Are the courses approved by NACC and the Ministry of Colleges and Universities (MCU)?
Yes — our Personal Support Worker (PSW) Program at Peak College is approved by the National Association of Career Colleges (NACC) and registered under the Ministry of Colleges and Universities (MCU) as a licensed private career college in Ontario.
This ensures your training meets provincial standards and is recognized by employers across the healthcare sector.
Our Developmental Services Worker (DSW) and Food Services Worker programs are approved by the Ministry.
For more information about our accreditation and approvals, feel free to contact info@peakcollege.ca.
Do I need a high school diploma?
Yes — you generally need an Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) or equivalent to enroll at Peak College.
For help determining your eligibility, contact info@peakcollege.ca — we’re happy to guide you through the process!
Is there an entrance test?
If English is not your first language, you may need to complete a Literacy Test, which is taken at the College’s location.
Do I need immunization, police check, or CPR/First Aid before starting?
Yes — most placement facilities require you to have:
● Up-to-date immunization records (including COVID-19 vaccine and flu shot during Fall and Winter)
● Police check with Vulnerable Sector Check
● Current CPR & First Aid certification
COVID-19 vaccination is mandatory and should already be completed before you start your program, as it’s required by many healthcare facilities.
We recommend collecting and completing your other placement requirements as early as possible, following these timelines:
● Full-time students — within 1 month of registration
● Part-time (evening) students — within 2 months of registration
● Part-time (weekend) students — within 3 months of registration
Starting early ensures there are no delays when it’s time to begin your placement.
For guidance and submission details, contact the Placement Team at placement@peakcollege.ca
Will I be eligible to work in long-term care or hospitals after taking the PSW course?
Yes — after successfully completing your Personal Support Worker (PSW) program and placement, you’ll be qualified to work as a PSW in a variety of healthcare settings, including:
● Long-term care homes
● Retirement residences
● Community and home care services
● Some hospital support roles
Your training is aligned with industry standards and meets the requirements set by employers and regulatory bodies in Ontario.
For more information about career opportunities and job search support, contact our team at info@peakcollege.ca.
Can I work part-time as a PSW while I study?
While you can work part-time during your studies, you won’t yet be able to work as a fully certified Personal Support Worker until you complete your program and receive your NACC certification — which you’ll earn here at Peak College. Many students choose part-time roles in related fields to gain experience, but we encourage you to ensure any job fits around your class schedule so your studies remain your top priority.

To learn more about what’s included and how you can start your journey affordably, visit our Payment Options page or speak with our admissions team today.
How do monthly instalments work?
We understand that investing in your education is a big decision. That’s why at Peak College, you can pay your tuition in flexible monthly instalments:
1. Affordable Down Payment
Begin with a low up-front payment—typically 25% of your total tuition—required before classes start.
2. Fixed Monthly Payments
The remaining tuition is divided evenly over the duration of your program. For example, in a 6‑month program, your balance will be paid in six equal monthly payments.
3. Interest-Free Option
Our standard installment plan is interest-free, ensuring you only pay for your tuition— not finance charges.
4. Flexible Adjustments (with notice)
Need to adjust your plan? With advance notice, we can revise your schedule or accommodate a one-time payment change.
To see sample payment schedules for specific programs and to sign up, please visit our Payment Options page or contact your Admissions Advisor for personalized support.
